POSITION:

Parent Liaison

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum one year of experience coordinating and delivering social services to children and families; and a
  2. High School Diploma or Equivalent
  3. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal alien status.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Innovation and Community Partnerships

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Survey, organize and evaluate the needs of the community and families;
  2. Notify parents of community-related events via flyers, websites, etc…;
  3. Coordinate work with the school district, community agencies and providers;
  4. Collaborate with all relevant instructional staff, administrators and support personnel to support the relationships between the schools/district/family service programs;
  5. Implement and coordinate Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs);
  6. Develop and implement programs for parental and community involvement designed to promote maximum participation in school activities, particularly in the areas of student achievement, family life skills, school policies, procedures and laws;
  7. Serve on building School Leadership Council (SLC) as a non-voting member;
  8. Record and transmit all pertinent school and district reports on a monthly basis to the building principal and Director of Innovation and Community Partnerships.
  9. Schedule media coverage for parent/school events in accordance with the Board of Education policy requirements;
  10. Develop press releases for school related activities;
  11. Create monthly school newsletters and distribute to students and parents;
  12. Collaborate and solicit building staff to support the school and district parental involvement initiatives and programs;
  13. Complete and submit all program documentation (BoardDocs and Requisitions) on-time;
  14. Complete any other duties assigned by the Director of Innovation and Community Partnerships.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

10 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
