POSITION:

Pre-School Instructional Coach (previously Pre-School Master Teacher)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and P-3 teacher certification.
  2. Additional certifications preferred not required, TOSD, Bilingual, and/or ESL certification.
  3. Three to five years of experience teaching in general education preschool programs.
  4. Experience facilitating workshops and training sessions for preschool teachers.
  5. Experience in design and implementation of developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum.
  6. Experience with on-going performance based preschool assessments.
  7. Experienced providing professional development
  8. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

REPORTS TO:

Supervisor PK-2 and Building Principal

JOB GOAL:

To provide in-classroom support to in-district and childcare provider preschool teachers ensuring a developmentally appropriate classroom environment and instruction.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Model, coach, and provide feedback to teachers in preschool programs to assist in implementation of the New Jersey Early Childhood Expectations.
  2. Provide staff development for all aspects of the preschool programs.
  3. Provide resources and support to preschool programs.
  4. Coordinate early childhood assessment to preschool program.
  5. Coordinate parent involvement programs.
  6. Provide information on district programs to the family workers, social workers, and preschool program staff.
  7. Plan and coordinate transition activities, programs, and services between preschool programs and kindergarten programs.
  8. Perform such other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of PK-2 or building principal.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

10 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
