POSITION:
Pre-School Instructional Coach
(previously Pre-School Master Teacher)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and P-3 teacher certification.
- Additional certifications preferred not required, TOSD, Bilingual, and/or ESL certification.
- Three to five years of experience teaching in general education preschool programs.
- Experience facilitating workshops and training sessions for preschool teachers.
- Experience in design and implementation of developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum.
- Experience with on-going performance based preschool assessments.
- Experienced providing professional development
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO:
Supervisor PK-2 and Building Principal
JOB GOAL:
To provide in-classroom support to in-district and childcare
provider preschool teachers ensuring a developmentally appropriate classroom environment and instruction.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Model, coach, and provide feedback to teachers in preschool programs to assist in implementation of the New Jersey Early Childhood Expectations.
- Provide staff development for all aspects of the preschool programs.
- Provide resources and support to preschool programs.
- Coordinate early childhood assessment to preschool program.
- Coordinate parent involvement programs.
- Provide information on district programs to the family workers, social workers, and preschool program staff.
- Plan and coordinate transition activities, programs, and services between preschool programs and kindergarten programs.
- Perform such other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of PK-2 or building principal.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
10 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of
Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
