Coaches

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Abide by all NJSIAA rules and guidelines,
2. Abide by all Board of Education, school and conferences rules pertaining to athletics. (permission slips, eligibility, etc.)
3. See that all athletes have a physical check-up before they practice.
4. Keep a record of all equipment issued and collected. Students should be held financially accountable for all equipment issued to them.
5. Prepare a list of students on the team for the NJSIAA eligibility list.
6. Organize, plan, and supervise practice sessions.
7. Prepare and distribute to players and Athletic Director any rules or regulations which the coach feels are necessary.
8. Supervise home and away games under the rules and regulations of NJSIAA, South Jersey Conference and Bridgeton High School.
9. Prepare a budget for the next year.
10. Prepare a list of award winners and distribute awards when scheduled.
11. Attend conference meetings with Board approval.
12. Provide first aid for injured students and file necessary accident report forms. All coaches must have first aid and CPR certification.
13. Report scores to newspapers - see that information goes to the press and that such information does not create problems with other schools.
14. Prepare a roster and schedule and distribute them to the High School staff.
15. Have notices placed on the daily bulletin announcing departure time.
16. Prepare an annual report - include roster, awards, team record, inventory, problems, recommendations, etc.
17. Assist senior student athletes in obtaining scholarships and college admission when possible.
18. Maintain professional conduct in all matters associated with your coaching,
19. Encourage good sportsmanship your players. DO NOT tolerate unsports­manshiplike behavior before, during, or after an athletic event.
20. Encourage academic excellence.
21. Encourage good school citizenship.
