Job Description
POSITION:
Payroll Manager - Agency
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of payroll experience in public school preferred.
- Continued professional growth through additional course work, conferences and/or workshops.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and the operation of standard office equipment.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices and the ability to apply these principles to work situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relation Ships with employees and general public.
- Ability to maintain essential data, records and files.
- Must be computer literate 9ability to use a personal Computer and word processing equipment).
- Experience on EDUMET Human Resource/Payroll System preferred.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of
U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO:
The Payroll Manager is directly responsible to the School Business Administrator.
JOB GOAL:
Under the direction of the School Business
Administrator, responsible for all activities pertaining to and maintaining a thorough and efficient payroll operation.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up payroll files for new and current employees.
- Processes pension applications for Teacher Pensions and Annuity Fund and Public Employee Retirement Fund.
- Enters payroll input forms into the computer and maintains payroll input file.
- Keeps all payroll filing up-to-date.
- Does all correspondence for entire staff of verification of employment.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of law, rules, regulations and procedures involved in preparation of payrolls.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the tables, charts, listings, calculations, schedules pay scales applicable to the preparation of payrolls.
- Assist accountant with computation of all pension amounts, and quarterly reconciliation of pension reports for both T.P.A.F. and P.E.R.S.
- Settlement and distribution of each payroll as required by pre-planned service schedule.
- Assist staff members with processing of retirement forms, W-4's, etc.
- Preparation of all correspondence including credit references, attachments, unemployment forms, and other responsible to inquiries from staff and government agencies as required.
- Maintenance of Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly records systems as required by statute.
- Filing, correspondence, and telephone coverage as necessary.
- Enters substitute payroll and calculates pay for each pay period.
- Prepares all bi-monthly and monthly agency bills, such as TSA's, wage garnishments, union dues, insurance, TPM, and credit union.
- Assist in preparation and distribution of W2's
- Performs such other duties as required or assigned in the office, in the presence or absence of the School Business Administrator.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 Months.

Job performance will be evaluated in the Board policy.
